Binding: Contemporary German (Kyriß workshop no. 167) blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards, one catch and clasp lost. Triple fillets form an intersecting triple frame. Within the outer frame, circular floral stamps and almond-shaped fleuron stamps in the corners; within the following frame, crocketed cresting and floral roll. Triple fillets divide the inner rectangle into lozenge-shaped and triangular compartments decorated with the fleuron stamps and with foliate staff stamps; see Kyriß pl. 335, nos 1, 6, and 7. At the head of the spine, paper label with the author's name in brown ink and ‘45' in red pencil; at the tail, ‘335' in brown ink on paper label. Reinforcing slips from a parchment manuscript.

Size: 278 × 197 × 75 mm.

Size of leaf: 268 × 188 mm.

The front and rear pastedowns are lined respectively with a half-sheet from Spiegel der sündigen Seele in Dinckmut's type 109 (S‑263); and from a rhymed Prognostication in German (P‑474).

‘Nota' marks in an early hand.
