Binding: Contemporary English (Cambridge, 'The Antwerp Binder') blind-tooled calf over wooden boards, with a single clasp and catch, fastening from the upper to the lower board. Fillets form an outer border, within which are a square stag stamp (Oldham, Blind-stamped Bindings, pl. xii) and a stamp of the arms of Antwerp (Oldham, Blind-stamped Bindings, pl. xiv, no. 99). Further intersecting fillets form a frame within which are a floral stamp (Oldham, Blind-stamped Bindings, pl. xiv, no. 98), and the stag stamp. Fillets form the inner rectangle, which is divided by double fillets into triangular compartments, decorated with the stag stamp and the Antwerp stamp.
