Binding: Seventeenth-century English calf; rebacked. Each cover is decorated with a frame of fillets only.
Size: 285 × 216 × 58 mm.

On a2r a note to the reader in a sixteenth-century English hand: ‘Docte et prudens lector, quiscunque es, scito quod quando aut quam crebro nomen Romani pontificis sub sono pape reperies in libro presenti et eius assertione non assumes tandique non potest non dest[ ]tere dirempcio in hoc volumine nisi illis laboribus quibus vel lucidus(?) oculus potest [ ] raro lippire'. Name of S. Thomas Becket cancelled in ‘Tabula legendarum' on a3v. Occasional early marginal annotations, including one on c6r in English, also ‘nota' marks and pointing hands; occasional scribbles and pen-trials.
Provenance: [ ] Salford, fifteenth/sixteenth century; perhaps either Richard Salford (fl. 1488-1489) or William Salford (†1487); cropped inscription on a2r: ‘Dominus Salfordus me possidet.
