Notes in a fifteenth/sixteenth-century hand on2 h8v: ‘Ars sua quemque iuuat fract[ ]s fabril[ ]', and ‘Ante falas falerata falanx fregere falangas', and ‘Denique quisquis erat castris iugulatus achiuis | Frigidinis glacie pectus amantis erat | Sed bene consuluit casto deus equus amore | Versa est in cineres sospite Troia viro'. Early marginal annotations and underlining in the text, including annotations and pen-trials on a1r and2 h8v.

Provenance: Richard Chambers (sixteenth century); signature on a1r. Richard Lathe (1568-?1614); inscription on a1r: ‘Richardus Lathe: pretium iii s'. William Yonger (1605-1661); signature on a1r. (MS. Tanner 17): William Herne (fl. 1730). Thomas Tanner (1674-1735); signature on a1r; MS Tanner 17 given by Herne to Tanner on 20 Jan. 1730, according to an inscription in the manuscript. Bequeathed in 1736.
