Clarius's Summaria precede the gloss, section by section; they are based on those by Angelus de Gambilionibus, but also incorporate material from Baldus de Ubaldis and Christophorus Porcus; see GW VII, col. 98, and Domenico and Paola Maffei, Angelo Gambiglioni giureconsulto aretino del quattrocento. Binding: Contemporary German blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards, with two metal clasps. Title on a rectangular paper label at the head of upper cover. On the upper cover, triple fillets form a triple frame. Outside the outer frame, intersecting diagonal double fillets form a lozenge-shaped border with circular rosette stamps. Within the outer frame, thistle stamps; within the following frame, thistle and rosette stamps. The inner rectangle, very worn, contains apex and rosette stamps. On the lower cover, triple fillets form a frame surrounded by the same border found on the upper cover. Diagonal triple fillets divide the inner rectangle into lozenge-shaped and triangular compartments, each containing a rosette stamp or a circular floral stamp. Small floral stamps at the intersection of the fillets.

Size: 437 × 289 × 35 mm.

Size of leaf: 427 × 280 mm.

Marginal notes, mainly extracting key words, in two different early hands, one of which is probably that of Iacobus Krux(?).

Provenance: Jacobus Krux(?) (fifteenth century); inscription on a1r: ‘A[ ]s h[ ] B[ ]p | Iacobus Krux(?)'. Paulus Kherll (fl. 1530); inscription on the front endleaf: ‘Egregius Doctor Paulus Kherll 1530'.
