a2r Accursius: Glossa ordinaria. Incipit: ‘  “[I]n nomine domini.” Incipit a deo ut infra de officio prefecti . . .’

p3r ‘Constitutio Greca.’ Incipit: ‘[A]learum usus antiqua res est et extra operas pugnatoribus concessa . . .’ Explicit: omnes penitus conquiescant. Inserted between books 3 and 4.

Binding: Contemporary German blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards with yellow-edged leaves and leather index tabs. Two catches, clasps, corner-pieces, and centre-piece lost. ‘423' on a small rectangular paper label at the head of the spine. ‘MB', in brown ink, also on the spine. Triple fillets form a triple frame. Lozenge-shaped floral stamps and apex stamps surround the outer frame. Within the outer frame a ‘Maria hilf' scroll roll. No tooling within the following frame. Double diagonal triple fillets, with strapwork running in between them, divide the inner rectangle into lozenge-shaped and triangular compartments, each containing a rosette stamp.

Size: 445 × 284 × 10 mm.

Size of leaf: 429 × 273 mm.

Marginal notes, mainly extracting key words, correcting the text, and pointing hands in a number of early and later hands.`1572' in pencil on the rear endleaf. Manuscript foliation on the upper right-hand corner of the rectos: 1-357. Running book numbers in red.

Initials at the beginning of each book are supplied in blue. Other initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red.

Provenance: Plankstetten, Bavaria, Benedictines, SS. Maria et Johannes evangelista; inscription on a2r: ‘Monasterij Blankstadiani'. Duplicate from the Royal Library, Munich; Munich shelfmark: ‘Inc. Typ. no. 423' on a slip pasted onto rear pastedown and ‘Duplum' on a slip pasted onto front pastedown. Acquired between 1847 and c.1892; not found in Catalogus (1843), with Appendix.
