Lamento Di Costantinopoli [Italian]

Analysis of Content

a1r [Title-page.]

a1v Maffeus Pisanus: Lamento di Costantinopoli. Incipit: ‘Con lachryme piangendo a raccontare | Le dispietate morti e l'aspro fato.’ A. Medin and L. Frati, Lamenti storici dei secoli xiv, xv e xvi, 4 vols (Bologna, 1887-94), II 157-90; at 153-6 the two editors record an attribution to Bernardinus Cingolanus; A. Pertusi, Testi inediti e poco noti sulla caduta di Costantinopoli, ed. A. Carile, Il mondo medievale 4 (Bologna, 1983), 297-8 confirms the authorship of Maffeus Pisanus and suggests that Barnardinus Cingolanus probably added material to the original text.
