Wanting O10 of the Sermones quadragesimales containing De Vingle's device.
Binding: Contemporary German(?) blind-tooled calf over wooden boards, with two metal catches and remains of clasps. Gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers. Parchment index tabs dyed green and red. Quintuple fillets form a frame, within which are foliate staff and rosette stamps. Intersecting triple fillets form the inner rectangle, decorated with repeated merrythoughts, a circular floral stamp, and a rosette stamp, and, on the upper cover, two other stamps, one inscribed, one perhaps a fleuron, both now covered by the Bodleian stamp.
Size: 210 × 150 × 55 mm.
Size of leaf: 200 × 136 mm.
Pastedowns and endleaves consist of thirteenth-century manuscript on parchment by Defensor of Ligugé, Liber scintillarum; see ed. Henri M. Rochais, CCSL 117 (Turnhout, 1957), cap. IV sent. 39 - cap. VI sent. 24; XXXVI, 14 - XLII, 3; I, 1 - III, 26; XLII, 4 - XLVI, 10.
Some marginal notes, mainly extracting key words, and ‘nota' marks in an early hand.
