Binding: Contemporary German blind-tooled half leather over wooden boards, with metal catch and remains of clasp and leather index tabs. Manuscript title at the head of upper cover. Double fillets form a frame, within which is a repeated foliate staff stamp. Remains of paper labels on the spine.
Size: 205 × 150 × 30 mm.
Size of leaf: 196 × 138 mm.
Manuscript foliation: 1-50 only. A few marginal notes, mainly structuring the text and extracting key words, ‘nota' marks, and pointing hands in an early hand.
Three-line initials, some with extensions into the margins, and paragraph marks are supplied in red or blue.
Provenance: Bamberg, Bavaria, Carmelites; inscription on a1r: ‘Carmeli Bambergensis'. John Wickham Legg (1843-1921); ex-libris inscription and printed book-label on front pastedown. Bequeathed in 1921; see Craster 295.
