Binding: Eighteenth/nineteenth-century diced russia, backed with red morocco.

Size: 301 × 212 × 42 mm.

Size of leaf: 292 × 195 mm.

Early marginal notes, including occasional comments on the text, and ‘nota' marks.

On a2r an eight-line initial ‘Q' is supplied in red edged in blue and on a blue ground, with the body of the letter decorated in red and blue, probably in the nineteenth century for Bearzi. Running headings are supplied in black ink in a fifteenth-century hand.

Provenance: Angelo Visconti (fl. c.1500). Milan, Augustinian Hermits, S. Maria coronata. Basilius de Ripa (c.1444-1505); partly washed inscription on a2r: ‘Sancte Marie Coronate Mila[nensis]. Ad vsum fratris Angeli ViceComitis. Frater Basilius de Ripa v[icarius] g[eneralis] empto manu propria prebens'. Jean Baptiste, chevalier de Bearzi (nineteenth century); sale, lot 414. Purchased for £0. 16. 0: see Books Purchased (1855), 39, which gives the date as 1479.
