Wanting the blank leaf [gg10].

Binding: Contemporary German(?) blind-tooled calf over wooden boards, with two metal catches and one clasp, with remains of a second. Yellow-edged leaves. Intersecting double fillets form a double frame. Within the outer frame, a circular rosette stamp, circular emblems of the four Evangelists, rectangular ‘Maria' and ‘Ihesus' stamps, a circular double-headed eagle, and three different circular floral stamps. Diagonal double fillets divide the inner rectangle into lozenge-shaped compartments decorated with lozenge-shaped fleur-de-lis, a circular Agnus Dei, and five-petalled flower stamps. Two panels at the head of the spine painted over, the upper one in white with the shelfmark 'E 80' in black, the lower one in red with the author's name and title of the work, also in black.

Size: 290 × 220 × 80 mm.

Size of leaf: 289 × 206 mm.

Occasional marginal notes, mainly structuring and correcting the text, and ‘nota' marks, in an early German hand.

On [a1r] a six-line initial ‘D' is supplied in interlocked red and blue with red and green pen-work decoration extending into the margin to form a border; on the same leaf, a four-line initial ‘S' is supplied in red with reserved white decoration, and with purple and green pen-work decoration. Other large initials are supplied in red or blue, some with blue or red pen-work decoration. Paragraph marks and underlining of chapter headings are supplied in red; capital strokes in red.
