Illustrations: On A2r a four-sided woodcut border: above is a portrait of the author within the tympanum, flanked on each side by a mermaid and a vase with floral decoration; in the inner and outer margins is a putto standing in front of a column and holding a torch, with a shield behind him; below is a circlet containing a shield flanked on each side by a stylized dolphin and a putto riding a griffin, facing a stylized lion's head. BMC V p. 483, woodcut border (4), notes the appearance of this border in this edition, but identifies it as being the same as woodcut border (B) of Bernardinus Rizus (BMC V p. 400), which it is not.
