Binding: Nineteenth-century gold- and blind-tooled diced calf; blue-edged leaves; blue marbled pastedowns and blue silk bookmark.

Size: 218 × 160 × 22 mm.

Size of leaf: 210 × 152 mm.

Occasional marginal notes, extracting key words, in red in the rubricator's hand. On the verso of the front endleaf bibliographical notes in Latin and in German in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century hands.

Two- and three-line initials (with extensions into the margins) and paragraph marks are supplied in red or blue. Underlining of chapter headings and capital strokes in red. With rubricator's date 1496; see below.

Provenance: České Budějovice (Budweis), Bohemia, Dominicans, BVM; cancelled inscription on L6v: ‘Per me fratrem Caspar Pronner Lithomericensem est iste libellus incorporatus [i.e. rubricated; cf. another inscription in Goldschmidt I 32 n. 1] et emtus Anno domini 1496 in ottaua visitacionis virginis gloriose et pertinet conuentui Budwyensis'.
