Binding: Eighteenth/nineteenth-century gold-tooled red morocco; gilt-edged leaves, marbled pastedowns, green silk bookmark; the gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers.

Size of leaf: 276 × 197 mm.

A few marginal notes, mainly extracting key words and names of authors, and correcting the text, in a humanist hand. The name of the author and the title of the work on [a1r] in a sixteenth-century hand.

Provenance: Louis César de la Baume le Blanc, duc de La Vallière (1708-1780); sale (1783), lot 2184, for either 181. 19 or 174 [Écus?] (both prices are given in the Bodleian's annotated copy of the sale catalogue); ‘V 2184' on the recto of the rear endleaf. Pietro-Antonio Bolongaro-Crevenna (1735-1792); printed label of the sale (1789), part III lot 3050; in the annotated catalogue marked down to Thomas Payne for Fl. 40.
