The first gathering is of 8 leaves only, instead of 14 as in BMC. After line 20 of a3r (`Nomē quod ē cuiusqƺ), the following sections of the text have been omitted: remainder of ‘De nomine, De generibus nominum, Prima regula–regula xxxii, De numero, De figura, De casu'. Wanting the blank leaf q8.

Leaf a3r, l. 21 reads: ‘[P]Rīa declīatio [per] quot genera declinat˜ . . .’

Binding: Eighteenth/nineteenth-century parchment; manuscript title at head of the spine; sprinkled blue-edged leaves.

Size: 196 × 144 × 25 mm.

Size of leaf: 189 × 143 mm.

Occasional marginal notes, extracting key words, in an early hand. A few other marginal notes in Italian, in black ink, in a sixteenth-century hand. Erased inscription in the upper margin of a1r. Sixteenth/seventeenth-century manuscript foliation: 1-125.

Provenance: Giacomo Lucchesini (1753-1820); erased inscription on front pastedown: ‘Di Giacomo Lucchesini' and obliterated stamp on a1r. Jean Baptiste, chevalier de Bearzi (nineteenth century); sale (1855), lot 2057. Purchased for £0. 8. 0: see Books Purchased (1855), 47.
