Early manuscript signatures. Some early marginal annotations, including extraction of key words, ‘nota' marks, and pointing hands, also underlining in the text in black ink. Occasional early running book numbers.

On [b1r] an eight-line Italian (Milanese?) initial ‘D' is supplied in maroon, pink, and blue with white pen-work decoration, on a ground of gold and reserved white, with the body of the letter decorated in red, green, and black, and with foliate extensions into the margins in maroon, blue, green, and gold, and with gold dots: see Pächt and Alexander II, 114 no. pr. 129; other two- to four-line initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red or blue.
