Binding: Contemporary blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards; two clasps and catches lost, also four corner-pieces and two central bosses on each cover. On both covers intersecting quadruple fillets form a frame. Triple fillets form the inner rectangle which is divided by further fillets into triangular and lozenge-shaped compartments. A parchment label at the head of the upper cover bears the title in manuscript in a fifteenth-century hand. Remains of two labels on the spine, the one at the head bearing the name of the author and the title, the one at the tail probably the shelfmark. The head of the spine has been repaired. Parchment front endleaf.

Size: 405 × 302 × 102 mm.

Size of leaf: 390 × 268 mm.

One- to seven-line initials, some with red and black pen-work decoration, some with extensions into the margins, are supplied in red, interlocked red and black, or red with black acanthus scrolling decoration; rubrics, running headings, capital strokes, and underlining are supplied in red. The running headings have been inked over black crayon, which, in some places, shows through.
