Necnon et aptus optimo cuique viro titulus. Insuper et perquamfacilis memorie artis modus Jacobi Publicii Florentini lucubratione in luce editus, foelici numine inchoat.’

A2r Publicius, Jacobus: Ars oratoria [dedicated to] Cyrillus Caesar. Incipit: ‘[S]i quis id operis diligens examinator inspiciat hoc mente secum facile cogitabit . . .’ E6v Explicit: ‘... si assidua exercitatione maioribus tuis parem in dicendo superioremque te reddi curabis.’

Binding: Contemporary wooden boards, half-covered by twentieth-century morocco; the remains of a clasp on the outer edges.

In a sixteenth-century hand on recto of front endleaf: ‘Jo. Jovagranges C maccaphano(?)'; sketches of the letter ‘I'. On verso: ‘Lo pan es venuto tre volte | La prima non so | La secunda o[ ]hate'; sketches of the letter ‘P'. A few scribbles and notes in the same hand throughout the book.
