a2r [Editorial opening] Incipit: ‘Incipit regimen sanitatis Salernitanum excellentissimum, pro conservatione sanitatis totius humani generis perutilissimum, necnon a magistro Arnaldo de Villa Nova Cathelano [sic] ... veraciter expositum...’ Explicit: ‘Noviter correctum ac emendatum per egregissimos ... doctores Montispessulani regentes, anno M.cccc.lxxx. predicto loco actu moram trahentes.’

a2r Arnoldus de Villa Nova [pseudo-]: [Commentary, corrected by the doctors in medicine of the University of Montpellier in 1480, as stated in the editorial opening]. Incipit: ‘Iste libellus est editus a doctoribus Salerniensibus in quo inscribuntur multa et diuersa pro conseruatione sanitatis humane. Et editus est iste liber ad vsum regis Anglie...’ k8r Explicit: ‘... propter aperitionem pororum aliquando sequitur subita infrigidatio corporis vel paralisis, sive laxitas membrorum, vel mors subita. A qua nos defendat qui eternaliter vivit et regnat. Amen.’ The commentary follows after every few lines of the text. On authorship see R‑024.

A cutting from an unidentified sale catalogue, lot 126, is pasted on the front pastedown. ‘47' in pencil on a1r. Some marginal notes, mainly extraction of key words, underlining, and pointing hands, in an early German hand in brown ink. Also some pointing hands and ‘nota' marks in red ink.
Initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red; capital strokes in red.
