Binding: Seventeenth-century English (c.1600) blind-tooled calf. Remains of ties. Formerly chained: staple-marks of a hasp at the tail of the upper cover. Yellow-edged leaves.

On [b10r] two marginal notes, extracting key words, in an early hand, probably French.
