Wanting the blank leaf [a1].

Binding: Nineteenth-century half calf over green and blue marbled paper boards; bound for Kloß; red leather index tabs on [a2]; index tabs removed from [c6].

Size: 406 × 292 × 30 mm.

Size of leaf: 398 × 280 mm.

A few marginal notes in a fifteenth-century German hand in red and black ink supplying ‘nota' signs, pointing hands, and structuring the text with numbers. A few notes in sixteenth-century German hands, providing additions to the table and to the text (e.g. ‘usque ad Lutheri martini tempora . . . anno domini 1523' on [f5r]). ‘1048-157' in pencil on front pastedown.

Some woodcuts coloured in yellow, red, and green. On [a2r] and [a3r] four-line initials, ‘G' in blue ink and ‘M' in red ink with brown pen-work within the space formed by the letter. Elsewhere one- to ten-line initials, paragraph marks, capital strokes, underlining, and folio numbers are supplied in red.

Wanting the blank leaves [a1] and [g7–8].

By an error of imposition the text of [f1v] is repeated on [g3v]. The leaf [g6v] is blank. The second sheet of gathering [f] is misbound within sheet 4. Leaf [g2] is misbound before [g1].

Binding: Eighteenth-century Netherlandish(?) gold-tooled red morocco; gilt-edged leaves, with a small amount of gauffering at the corners; marbled pastedowns.

Size: 380 × 289 × 28 mm.

Size of leaf: 368 × 276 mm.

Folio numbers are supplied in a fifteenth-century German hand. Manuscript signatures are supplied in red in the lower left-hand corner of some leaves. A few marginal notes in a sixteenth-century German hand, supplying ‘nota' marks, pointing hands, and continuation of folio numbers. ‘No. 60' on the rear endleaf.

Some woodcuts are coloured in red, yellow, green, and blue. One- to four-line initials, capital strokes, and some underlining are supplied in red.

Provenance: Date of acquisition unknown; other books with neighbouring shelfmarks were acquired between 1837 and 1858.
