A2r [Rolewinck, Werner: Prologue.] Both the prologue and the work are translated by Pierre Farget. Incipit: ‘[A]lonneur de dieu tout puissant et de la glorieuse uierge Marie . . .’

A2v [Rolewinck, Werner: Fasciculus Temporum.] Incipit: ‘[A]u commencement du monde et le sixieme jour dieu forma Adam . . .’ See R‑104; based on the Geneva: Cruse, 1495 edition, with changes to the text and woodcuts; see BMC.

M2r [Continuation of the chronicle.] Incipit: ‘Lan mille cccclxvii Charles duc de Bourgoigne entra au pays du Liege . . .'; explicit: ‘ . . . et regnit son peuple que ce soit salut de son ame'.’ Includes the death of Charles the Bold, the succession of Maximilan, and the wars waged by Charles VIII, King of France, in Brittany and Italy, the storms of 1480 (see R‑116), ending with the taking of Naples.

Size of leaf: 263 × 193 mm.

Folio numbers are supplied in a sixteenth-century hand. Occasional marginal notes in French in two seventeenth-century hands, extracting personal names and key points, and providing pointing hands.

Provenance: ‘Ré[j]anc' (sixteenth century) on A1r. Claude Pellot (fl. 1610-1678); book-plate on A1r. Anonymous sale (London: Sotheby's, 9 Feb. 1837), lot 299, see R‑116(2); one of the items listed in Books Purchased (1837), 33, referred to as ‘ed alt. [i.e. Gallice] fol. Genev. 1495', is probably this copy; see remains of a round paper label ‘[ ]9 | [ ]4' on the spine.
