Provenance: Franciscus Plato de Benedictus (†1496). Antonius Urceus (Codrus) (1446-1500); inscription on RR6r: ‘1496. Kl. martijs hos libros emi e[g]o Anthonius Urceus de Platone librario sol. .xij.' Inscription on the verso of the second front endleaf: ‘Adi 17 ottobre 1571 in Mond[olf]o [Marche] compro per me Luca M[/L?]oretti dal libraio di Fano giulij doi e mezzo'. Paget Jackson Toynbee (1855-1932); book-plate; purchased in 1900 for 20 Francs from Nardecchia. Presented in 1913.

Binding: Nineteenth-century half mottled calf over marbled pasteboards. ‘624' in red ink on a rectangular paper label at the upper left-hand corner of the upper cover. Yellow-edged leaves and green silk bookmark.

A few marginal notes, mainly extracting key words, in a contemporary humanist hand in red-brown ink; a few other marginal notes, providing references to comparative texts, also running book numbers in roman numerals, in a sixteenth-century hand in brown ink.
