Wanting A1. Leaf A2 was removed from Douce Prints 172 fol. 142 in 1893. The following are mutilated, all the woodcuts and the colophon having been cut away: C3, E3, H3, K4, M4, N5,6, O5, P1, Q2, [*4]. Nine of the missing woodcuts are pasted in Douce Prints, c. 24, fols 143-5, now transferred to the Ashmolean Museum; another of the woodcuts from this item is now inserted in E‑006 (Douce 187), Egenolf Von Staufenberg, Die Geschichte vom Ritter Peter Diemringer von Staufenberg [Strasbourg: Martin Schott, c.1489-90], after leaf [a6].
On A2r a woodcut border is coloured and a four-line initial is supplied in blue with red pen-work decoration, in the same style as item 1. Other initials are supplied in red or blue; capital strokes in red.

Wanting A1,2, and the blank leaves Q3 and X8. The same leaves are mutilated as in the first copy. Leaf [*4] is backed with a parchment leaf of a much damaged liturgical manuscript. Leaves M3 and M4 are bound in the wrong order. Nine of the missing cuts are pasted in Douce Prints, c. 25, fols 62-64, now transferred to the Ashmolean Museum.
Binding: Eighteenth-century(?) half calf over marbled pasteboards, with remains of a manuscript label, on paper, at the head of the spine. Marbled pastedowns.
Size: 270 × 205 × 35 mm.

Provenance: Francis Douce (1757-1834); small circular stamp in black ink. Bequeathed in 1834.
