Binding: Sixteenth-century blind-tooled calf over wooden boards, rebacked with remains of metal clasps and metal strips to protect the edges. Circular metal bosses and centre-piece lost. Formerly chained: staple-marks of a hasp at head of lower cover. Blind-tooled on the lower cover: ‘F. HENRICVS MAVROY', and in gold: ‘SERMONES. SOCCI'. Red-edged leaves.

Size: 300 × 220 × 85 mm.

Size of leaf: 293 × 194 mm.

Provenance: Henri Mauroy (sixteenth century); name on binding (see above). Purchased from Anatole Claudin, no. 18654, on 12 Mar. 1886, for 22 Francs; see Library Bills.
