A2r ‘Tabula rubricarum'. The entire volume is in Latin and Italian; it was translated into Italian by Franciscus Gibertus, as mentioned in the colophon on o4r.
a1r ‘Liber statutorum et legum Venetorum'. ‘Prologus primus'. Incipit: ‘[D]eo auctore ducatum nostrum beati Marci suffragiis gubernante . . . [D]io auctore gouernando mediante i pregi del beato misser san Marco el ducato nostro . . .’ The prologue states that the statutes were newly edited by Pantaleon Justinianus, parish priest of San Polo, Thomas Centernicus, Johannes Michael, and Stephanus Baduarius at the request of the Doge Jacobus Theupulus (Jacopo Tiepolo, 1226-49), on 6 Sept. 1242.

[D]apoi che lalteza di la celestial potentia . . .’ The sixth book of the statutes was compiled by Marcus Maurocenus, Marcus Lauretanus, Frescus Quirinus, Benedictus de Molino, and Marcus Justinianus (all ‘procuratores' of St Mark) at the request of the Doge Andreas Dandulus (1343-54), it contains his additions and corrections to the statutes, as well as those of his predecessors.
