A five-year privilege for the printing of the present edition, Fortunatianus' De Carminibus Horatii, Velius Longus' De orthographia, Adamantius' De orthographia, ‘Catholica Probi', and Cornelius Fronto's Elegantiae (at 25 aureai per volume), granted to Georgius Galbiatus by Ludovicus Maria Sforza, countersigned by his secretary Bartolomaeus Chalcus and dated Vigevano, 5 Sept. 1496; see Morelli, Autori scoperti, 9 n. 3, for the suggestion that it was drafted late in 1494 after Merula's death.
