Binding: Eighteenth/nineteenth-century quarter mottled calf over marbled pasteboards; the spine gold-tooled. Yellow-edged leaves.

Contemporary manuscript title in large characters in brown ink, on o6v.

Woodcuts are occasionally coloured in red. Initials, paragraph marks, and chapter heading underlining in red; capital strokes in red.

Francois-Xavier Joseph Ghislain Borluut de Noortdonck (1771-1857); book-plate; see Linnig 144-5; Catalogue des livres, manuscrits, dessins et estampes, formant le cabinet de feu M.
