Binding: Nineteenth-century(?) calf.
Size: 213 × 156 × 50 mm.
Size of leaf: 202 × 148 mm.
A number of contemporary scribbles, washed out, on [*1r]. A deleted early inscription on V6r. A few marginal notes, mainly extracting key concepts, in a contemporary hand. Also copiously annotated in the margins, clearly reduced in size later, in a sixteenth-century hand, both in brown ink. In the lower margin of F1r the following note in a sixteenth-century humanist hand, in Italian, with a reference to Ariosto(?): ‘Si uoi la quarta et la 5.6.7. ua a Venetia ouero arRoma | (different ink) Et tu m[esser?] Gonzo chai scritto quiui se uuoi del senno va et cercalo co' Astolpho nel cielo della luna (?) indi(?)'. ‘45 lire' in pencil on the front pastedown.
Provenance: Ugo de Senis (fifteenth/sixteenth century). Brother Petrus Presedis (fifteenth/sixteenth century); inscription on [*1r]: ‘Dominus Vgo de Senis Illustris doctor donauit hunc librum michi fratri Petro Presedis(?) de Egubio quod anima sua quam deus (?) faciat'. Purchased for £1. 5. 0 from Davis & Orioli, Catalogue 7, no. 65(?), on 3 Oct. 1913; see Library Bills.
