The first 40 leaves of part I and the first 20 leaves of part II have been numbered in roman numerals, probably in the same hand. On a paper pasted onto the front endleaf, historical information on the romance. More information, in Douce's hand, on papers pasted to the rear endleaf.
Principal initials are supplied in interlocked red and blue. Other initials are supplied in red or blue.
Provenance: Antoine Millier(?) (fifteeth/sixteenth century); inscription on a2r: ‘Je suis a Anthonie Millier(?) not[aire?]. Royale . . . gabelles . . .' Paul Girardot de Préfond ((†after c.1800); note in Douce's hand on the verso of the front endleaf. Francis Douce (1757-1834); armorial book-plate. Bequeathed in 1834.
