Wanting [a3], in place of which is bound a copy of the first leaf of the text of the edition of Mainz: Peter Schoeffer, 4 Apr. 1478 (T‑275).

Binding: Eighteenth-century gold-tooled mottled calf, with imprint information stamped in gold on two rectangular red leather labels pasted to the head of the spine. ‘113' in brown ink within a circle printed in black ink on an octagonal paper label pasted to the tail of the spine. Red-edged leaves, marbled pastedowns.

Size: 294 × 210 × 47 mm.

Size of leaf: 284 × 189 mm.

Early manuscript signatures partially visible. Occasional marginal early ‘nota' marks in brown ink.

On [a1r] an eight-line initial ‘B' is supplied in blue within a square ground of red pen-work decoration with extensions into the margin. Other initials are supplied in red or blue with violet or red pen-work decoration; red or blue paragraph marks.
