A leaf with bibliographical notes in Douce's hand is inserted within the front endleaves.

On [a3r] a seven-line initial ‘B' is supplied in interlocked red and brown; other initials, some with reserved white decoration, paragraph marks, underlining of chapter headings, and line-fillers are supplied in red; line-fillers also in red and brown; round brackets, marking the texts of the Psalms, touched in red; capital strokes in red.

Provenance: Early inscription on [a1r] ‘P [ ] | B.3'. Francis Douce (1757-1834); armorial book-plate. Bequeathed in 1834.
