Binding: Eighteenth-century gold-tooled red morocco; bound by H. Walther. The gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers. Gilt-edged leaves; marbled pastedowns. Emerald silk bookmark.

Size of leaf: 297 × 190 mm.

Occasional marginal notes in brown ink in a late fifteenth-century Italian hand, supplying some rough initials, corrections to the text, rhetorical terms (e.g. ‘comparatio'), ‘nota' marks, pointing hands and brackets, extracting key words. A few notes in a sixteenth-century Italian hand, e.g. on [a1r] providing explanation for V. Fl. 1.1-4: ‘Fasso. Fiume uastissimo in Colcho'.
