Gatherings q–t bound in reverse order. Sheet l3.8 bound fifth of the gathering.

Binding: Contemporary German calf over beech boards, rebacked, with five metal bosses on each cover and two catches (lettered ‘AMA'?), and with remains of two alum-tawed leather clasp straps. On both covers triple fillets form a double intersecting frame; the inner rectangle is divided by triple fillets into lozenge-shaped compartments. At head of front cover a paper label with title in manuscript. Sewn on three split alum-tawed thongs. Yellow-edged leaves, cut with a draw knife. Parchment internal reinforcement guards, from a tenth-century(?) manuscript (of the Bible?) with a gloss, the first with the text ‘post haec statim fui in spiritu' (Apc 4,2).

Size: 306 × 206 × 66 mm.

Size of leaf: 295 × 198 mm.

Pencilled number ‘64/1146' on a1r.

Two- to seven-line initials, some with reserved white decoration and red pen-work extensions into the margin and capital strokes are supplied in red.
