Frequent marginal and interlinear annotations (many washed) to Aeneis in English and Latin in two(?) tiny c.1500 English (and French?) hands, mainly supplying synonyms: e.g. on m2v ‘instabile' above ‘incertum', ‘reuinctum [ ] manq reuinctos', and translation into English, e.g. on k6v: ‘compositus, id est settylde'; ‘of Paduay' above printed ‘Pataui', ‘chasyd' above printed ‘actos'; on m2v: ‘bownde' above printed ‘reuinctum', ‘waytyng' above printed ‘comitante', ‘sotte vndyr' above printed ‘subiectisque'. On a1r the pencilled number ‘10', and the numbers ‘1414' and ‘2[*]' in brown ink.
Provenance: Walter Frankline (sixteenth century); name on M8v: ‘Walter Frankline'. Robert Gray (fl. 1664-1709); inscription on a1r: ‘Ex libris Roberti Gray colleg. med. Lond. Socii 1709'. Acquired after 1709; the shelfmark does not provide any clearer clue to the date of acquisition.
