Binding: Contemporary German (Leipzig, Kyriß workshop no. 104), blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards. Two metal catches and clasps, and leather clasp straps. On both covers triple fillets form a double intersecting frame; within the inner frame a repeated foliate stamp; within the squares formed by the intersections at the four corners a rosette stamp; and within the innner rectangle repeated merrythought panels and floral stamps, with a rosette stamp in centre of rectangle on lower cover. For the stamps see Kyriß, pl. 211 nos 1-4. The letters ‘C. W. M. S.' in black ink on the upper cover. Sewn on four bands.
