Copious marginal and interlinear annotations in a contemporary German hand to Ecl. 1 and G. 1, mainly supplying synonyms and definitions, and on a1v a Vita headed ‘mores Virgilii', incipit: ‘Virgilius fuit filius Maronis natus . . .'; ending with a distich: ‘Cedite rhomani scriptores cedite grai | Nescio quid maius nascitur iliade' (Prop. 3. 32. 65), Baehrens IV 158; see Schaller 2059. On the same page a note: ‘Interea ergo Virgilii scribentis Bucolica et sub iocundis(?) uerbis . . .' On the front pastedown a bookseller's pencilled number ‘3982/3838'.
