a2r ‘Commentum familiarissimum'. Incipit: ‘Construe sic: “O Tityre”, id est Virgili . . .’ expl: ‘caetera uideantur super textum’ Campbell and Polain wrongly identified the commentary as that of Hermannus Torrentinus. For the title see colophon. The commentary alternates with the text.

Frequent marginal notes in brown or red ink in contemporary Netherlandish hands, mainly providing paraphrases of the Vergilian text, ‘argumenta', pen-trials, and scribbles. A few notes in a sixteenth-century hand, providing notes on some personal names.
