Wanting the blank leaf [ee8].

Binding: Contemporary German blind-tooled leather over wooden boards, with remains of clasps. Yellow-edged leaves. Parchment index tabs, numbered. Double fillets form a frame. In the inner rectangle curved-outline tools make up merrythoughts, each containing a lozenge-shaped floral stamp.

Size: 485 × 340 × 130 mm.

Size of leaf: 472 × 326 mm.

On [a2r] a 12-line initial ‘Q' is supplied in blue on a square burnished gold ground, the gilt with punch-dotting, the initial with acanthus scrolling in white, within segmented frames of red and green, and with fine foliate border extensions including gold dotting. Other initials, paragraph marks, and running book numbers are supplied in red.
