Gathering [H] of BMC collation ([mm] here) has 10 leaves, not 8 as BMC.

Binding: Contemporary German blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards, clasps, catches, corner-pieces, and centre-piece lost. On the upper cover, a set of triple fillets forms a quintuple frame. Outside the outer frame a repeated rectangular floral and foliate stamp, also a palmette and a ‘Maria' scroll stamps. Within the outer frame the repeated palmette stamp. Within the following frame a repeated bunch of strawberries stamp and the scroll stamp. Within the following frame a small lozenge-shaped fleur-de-lis stamp, a small rectagular decorative stamp, a pansy, a lozenge-shaped floral stamp, and a different palmette stamp. The inner rectangle is decorated with the scroll and the pansy stamps. On the lower cover, fillets only and occasional ‘Maria' scroll stamps. Remains of a rectangular parchment label at the head of the upper cover and remains of early manuscript titles on the spine. Two parchment index tabs dyed red.

Size: 485 × 335 × 145 mm.

Size of leaf: 470 × 316 mm.

A few marginal notes, mainly providing corrections to the text in a contemporary German hand in brown ink; on [i6r] a marginal correction in red ink, the entry in the text erased. Early signatures mostly visible.

Main initials are supplied in blue, pink, or green on square burnished gold grounds, the gilt with punch-dotting, the initial with acanthus scrolling in white or yellow, within segmented frames of red and green, and with fine foliate border extensions including gold dotting. Other initials, paragraph marks, and running book numbers are supplied in red.
