Printed marginal correction stamped in on c2v.
Binding: Sixteenth-century Spanish limp parchment, with two loops of string on the upper cover, and evidence of what may have been knots on the lower cover. Name of the author and title of the work in black ink at the head of the spine.
Size: 200 × 142 × 20 mm.
Size of leaf: 195 × 136 mm.
Occasional early marginal annotations. In addition to the photostat (above), the text of a8 is also supplied on an inserted leaf in manuscript in an eighteenth-century hand(?); the title has been copied on the recto of the front endleaf in the same hand.
Provenance: Gregorio Mayáns y Siscar (1699-1781); inscription on a2r: ‘Ex Bibliotheca Majansiana'. Augustus Frederick, Duke of Sussex (1773-1843); book-plate with handwritten shelfmark ‘II.I.h.10': see Lee, Royal Bookplates, 41 no. 24; not identified in sale catalogues. M. T. Phipps (fl. 1950s?); pencil note on the front pastedown: ‘Bt. from M. T. Phipps'. Sheppard records that this item was purchased in 1956; see BLR 6,3 (1959), 516-17.
